Ron Dobie has been the pastor of Christ the King Community Church (CKCC) since its inception in 1991. Ron was born and raised in the Madison area. He was a medic in the U.S. Air Force for five years during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he attended Madison Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin studying to become a registered nurse, but after getting saved he decided instead to pursue the ministry. Ron and Julie were married in 1977 and three months later moved to Portland, Oregon where Ron attended Portland Bible College and they attended Bible Temple (now City Bible Church). After his graduation, Ron and Julie returned to Madison where Ron served as an associate pastor at Madison Gospel Tabernacle (now Lake City Church) for several years. They then moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota where Ron pastored Philadelphia Christian Center. In 1990 they returned to the Madison area to prepare for the start of CKCC, which is a branch of Lake City Church. The Dobies have three children. Allison, a music teacher, was married to Adam Berryman in June 2007, and they now live in Vermont. Michael and his wife, Abby, met while attending Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. They married two weeks after graduation in 2006 and currently reside in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Bethany graduated from Abundant Life Christian School in Madison in May 2007 and is now a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Ron and Julie have been married 30 years. They are enjoying being empty nesters and look forward to serving you. In the summer Ron enjoys tennis and drags his court mates out before sunrise to take advantage of the fact that he is the only morning person among them. He has also done several home remodeling projects and has recently started some simple woodworking techniques. Julie works full-time as a legal secretary, and is also in charge of CKCC's worship ministry and this website. In her "free" time she enjoys cooking, knitting and is making her first quilt.
