Ron and Julie were married in 1977 and three months later moved to Portland, Oregon where Ron attended Portland Bible College and they attended Bible Temple (now City Bible Church). After his graduation, Ron and Julie returned to Madison where Ron served as an associate pastor at Madison Gospel Tabernacle (now Lake City Church) for several years. They then moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota where Ron pastored Philadelphia Christian Center. In 1990 they returned to the Madison area to prepare for the start of CKCC, which is a branch of Lake City Church.

The Dobies have three children. Allison and her husband Adam Berryman live in Vail, Arizona. In May 2010 their daughter, Genevieve, was born--the Dobies' first grandchild! Michael and his wife, Abby, met while attending Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, and they continue to live in Wilmore. Bethany lives in Green Bay after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in May 2010.

Ron and Julie have been married 34 years. They are enjoying being empty nesters.

Ron enjoys playing tennis but a fall on the ice last winter kept him from playing this past year. He has also done several home remodeling projects and is about to start another, and has also taken up woodworking.

Julie works full-time as a legal secretary, and is also in charge of CKCC's worship ministry and this website. In her "free" time she enjoys cooking and knitting.
