Syttende MaiAll I can say is AMAZING! The effort put in by so many of you in making Syttende Mai an outstanding success was incredible. Those who worked on the float put in hours of design and building. We were so proud to see it in the parade.

Those volunteering to help hand out fresh popcorn, 600+ ice cream treats, many bottles of water and cups of coffee made an impression on a lot of people.

"Free?" they would ask incredulously. All over town, vendors were selling things, and here we were giving things away. When they were told we were not taking donations, many were again amazed. What was more fun for me was seeing YOU smiling as you did all this. Handing an "It's Free!" tract with just our name and website address in it let everyone know who was being so different. Our two RoverComers thrilled kids and adults alike as they worked the crowds on the parade route and by the church. Invitations to join us in Power Hour were liberally passed out to many in the crowd. Many of you were decked out in our new Christ the King Community Church shirts that further "branded" our efforts. I also enjoyed giving a few parade participants an ice cream treat as they passed. One treat was flipped neatly into Police Chief O'Connor's car, another one to Past Royalty and Koffee Kup partner, Don Wahlin, with another handful of treats for the others on that float. Many got a kick out of me running out to hand Mayor Helen Johnson a treat too. While I did not sit and watch much of the parade, this year was the most enjoyable for me, thanks to you--the good people of Christ the King Community Church. Thank you! You are amazing! Pastor Ron
